Who is Mr. Andrew Stanley?
Head of College
I am an experienced educational leader with a strong background in teaching, learning, curriculum design and strategic school improvement. At Kent College West Cairo, I oversee both the pastoral and academic elements of the senior school, as well as safeguarding.
With a proven track record in inclusive education, I have worked closely with school SENCOs to design bespoke curricula for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Earlier in my career, as Head of PE & Performing Arts, I developed examination class strategies that consistently ranked in the top 1% nationally for attainment and progress. As a senior leader, I drew on this expertise to create a whole-school teaching and learning framework, implemented over a number of years, which resulted in an “Outstanding” Ofsted rating in the UK, an achievement held by only 10% of schools.
I am passionate about raising achievement and closing gaps in literacy and vocabulary, leading on progress and attainment across all levels. I have implemented innovative literacy and SEND strategies, designed and delivered INSET and CPD pathways tailored to career stages and developed skills in financially-led curriculum planning, recruitment and quality assurance.
I qualified through the UK Graduate Teacher Programme in 2010, and have 15 years teaching experience in UK schools. More recently, I completed an internationally recognised PGCE and Masters in Education at Kingston University. My international experiences, through cultural trips to Sri Lanka, China, Spain, France, Austria and Italy, have strengthened my global perspective on education.
I look forward to working with our students, staff, and families to drive high standards, innovation and a shared commitment to excellence.
