Who is Ms. Engie Abdelgawad?
Business Manager
Engie Abd El Gawad is an accomplished education leader and startup specialist with nearly 20 years of experience in school management and institutional development. She currently serves as Founding Business Manager, Governor and Vice Chairman of the Board at Kent College West Cairo, a role she has held since February 2022. As a key member of the founding leadership team, she has played a central role in establishing the school from the ground up, overseeing strategic planning, operational set-up, financial structuring and governance frameworks.
She leads all non-academic departments, ensuring operational excellence, and plays a critical role in securing accreditations and maintaining full compliance with Ministry of Education regulations. She also oversees major capital projects, including the development of the senior school building, and represents the school at leading international education events such as COBIS and BETT, ensuring alignment with global best practice.
Engie began her career in 2007 at Smart Village Schools, where she progressed through senior leadership roles, including Head of Administration and Deputy General Director. During this time, she gained extensive experience across admissions, operations, compliance, budgeting and large-scale project management, contributing to the growth of a multi-campus school serving over 2,000 students.
She later served as Head of Secondary at Marvel International School, where she was a member of the Senior Leadership Team, leading academic operations, policy development and accreditation readiness.
Engie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cairo University (English Section). Her career is defined by strong governance insight, operational excellence and a proven ability to lead educational start-ups from concept to full operation.
