Outdoor Learning Activities For Students
As one of the leading British schools in Sheikh Zayed, Kent College consistently integrates outdoor learning with traditional classroom teaching. By extending education beyond the classroom walls, we create meaningful opportunities for students to engage with their peers, develop critical thinking skills, and build self-confidence.
Our House system plays a key role in fostering teamwork and school spirit. Through inter-house competitions, students participate in a wide range of sporting, creative, academic, and performing arts activities. They earn house points individually, in groups, or collectively as a house, celebrating achievements across all aspects of school life, from academic behaviour to co-curricular involvement. This dynamic system reflects the core values of British education, balancing personal growth with community engagement.
In addition to our curriculum, we place great importance on educational trips and experiences. We believe these journeys are essential to students’ development. Recently, we have focused on exploring Egypt’s rich heritage and history, with visits to iconic landmarks such as the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Muhammad Ali Mosque, and the Salah El Din Citadel. These experiences deepen students’ sense of belonging and pride in their country.
As part of our commitment to offering exceptional opportunities, we also organise international trips through our network of top British schools. Students have visited our sister school in Canterbury, the historic Leeds Castle, and the seaside town of Margate: experiences that provide valuable cultural exposure and a refreshing break from the traditional classroom environment. These adventures enrich learning, spark curiosity, and make education more engaging and enjoyable.
We also incorporate outstanding Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) that complement the British curriculum. Our programmes offer a wide variety of clubs and activities designed around students’ interests and passions. Whether in creative arts, sports, technology, or STEM-focused clubs, students regularly develop teamwork, responsibility, and essential life skills, while nurturing their individual talents.
Ultimately, we believe that outdoor learning and hands-on experiences are vital to students’ continuous growth. While we uphold the high standards of the British curriculum, we are equally proud to offer enriching activities that inspire joy, cultivate skills, and empower every student to shine.
